Looking out from the Escarpment at Bison Hill, April 2013

Landscape Drawing - Looking from the Escarpment at Bison Hill, Chiltern Hills, April 2013

Mixed media, crayon, graphite and acrylic paint on white paper, 2013.
This is the second of several drawings that I made after a visit to the Visitor Centre situated on the escarpment of the Dunstable Downs, an area in the Eastern part of the Chiltern Hills. The weather was cold and very windy and continually blew in rainstorms right across the panorama.

    • Thank you! I did this one on a very cold day earlier in April, safely protected in a car parked in a well-placed car park beside a wood! The ‘Vale of Aylesbury’ is the plain between the Chiltern Hills and The Cotswolds further North. In Spring and Summer it is very pretty looking out from here, but in the winter it does look a bit more forbidding!
